Warm up :
1.ถามนักเรียน - Have you ever had an accident ?
- Was it your fault or somebody else’s fault ?
- Did you get money 0r lose money after the accident ?
-Have you heard of anyone getting money

2. ครูบอกนักเรียนว่า เงินที่จ่ายให้ผู้ประสบอุบัติเหตุ เรียกว่า compensation และครูเขียนคำนี้บนกระดาน

-ทำความเข้าใจคำศัพท์ compensation และเขียนความหมายลงในสมุด

3.ครูให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับคำศัพท์ในบทอ่าน และให้นักเรียนเดาความหมายศัพท์จากบริบทหรือคำอื่นที่แวดล้อม เช่น

THE FAULTY KETTLE

Many people have accidents, but only some people get a lot of money afterwards. In Australia, Mrs. Murray was burned by boiling water while she was making tea. She hired lawyers and asked for compensation from the government because the accident happened in a government office. She said the government should have had a technician check the kettle and repair it.
She was burned in 1985, and in 1993 she won. The government paid her 47,000 dollars for being hurt and another 56,000 dollars to pay her lawyers. Australian newspapers said it was too much money because the burns were not so serious, and the government should not waste the money people paid in taxes. Cartoon made fun for her.
Mrs. Murray said that she did not get too much money because she felt very bad after the accident and had to hire a housekeeper to come in every day for a month to help her with the housework. She was sad that people criticized her
